Imogen Edwards-Jones (MGC 1986) inspires at Prizegiving Event

We were delighted to welcome Imogen Edwards-Jones (MGC 1986), to our annual Prizegiving and Commemoration event.

We were delighted to welcome inspirational Imogen Edwards-Jones (MGC 1986) to our annual Prizegiving and Commemoration event. An award-winning journalist, broadcaster, multi million selling novelist, and screenwriter, Imogen's witty and entertaining address as Guest Speaker left a lasting impression on us all.

Imogen encouraged pupils to work hard, grab every opportunity that presents itself and set aside self-doubt. Her moving speech resonated students, parents and teachers alike.

After graduating from Malvern Girls' College in 1986, Imogen won a scholarshipfrom The Independant newspaper to study journalism, and the rest is history, as they say. She went on to become a prolific and best-selling author, penning over 20 books, including the well-received travel book The Taming of Eagles which led her to present the BBC Radio 4 documentary, Bucks in the USSR. Some of her witty novels include her latest, Have You Got Anything Stronger?, My Canapé Hell, The Wendy House, and Tuscany for Beginners.

Imogen authored and screenwrote her massively popular Babylon series, including Hotel Babylon, Air Babylon, Fashion Babylon, Beach Babylon, and Pop Babylon. The series has sold over a million copies in the United Kingdom alone.

We are very grateful to Imogen for her time and insightful words. Her address and wise words will stay with us all, particularly our Year 13's as they start to think of life beyond MSJ.
